The Master Series; a warrior’s guide to the way of the Perfect Scream

Friday, May 15, 2009

After a long period of study and reflection our musicological sister organization the Klingon Terran Institute of Music (KTIM) proudly presents the Master Series; a warrior’s guide to the way of the Perfect Scream. The Master Series is a collection of teachings from the classical Klingon musicological text the paq’ jachchu or ‘Book of the Perfect Scream’. This manuscript forms the basis of our knowledge of the ancient art of Klingon battle music. Compiled by the Grand-Master of the Scream Valkrax, son of MartoH in the early stages of the empire, the paq’jachchu is being used by the KTRE to develop Klingon musical practice, composition, and for the training of musical warriors. The Master Series is a compilation of video lectures given by the KTRE’s own renowned Master of the Scream HenraH Deb’vo and strives to teach the way of the Perfect Scream to a wider audience and stimulate the discourse and practice of traditional Klingon battle music. We will be posting a new installment of the series monthly on our site and Youtube channel. For the first lesson ‘We fight to enrich the spirit’ see the following link:Master Series 1 Warriors, follow the path to wisdom, for the wind does not respect a fool!

KTRE GIVES FREE WORKSHOP AT THE WATERMILL CENTER, NY

Monday, September 15, 2008

The KTRE will be giving a workshop on Klingon musical improvisation at the Watermill Center in Watermill, New York from the 12th until the 16th of November. The Workshop is part of an artist-in-residence at the center.
——————————————————————————————————————————————-
The goal of the workshop will be to further develop the Klingon combative musical language and gain a
greater understanding of the improvising systems involved in it.
The KTRE is looking for vocal improvisers (male and female). No traditional vocal trainingis required, however you must be willing to explore the dark edges of your voice and to
perform solo. The nature of the singing technique requires you to find the right strategy
to optimize the strength of your voice so all types of voice are sought after.
——————————————————————————————————————————————-
The workshop will be held on the beautiful grounds of the Watermill Center in Watermill
(Southhampton) NY and is completely free. Living and transportation costs will be
provided, as well as a comfortable residence at the center during the days of the
workshop. The workshop would culminate in a performance of the developed technique
at the Watermill Center on Sunday the 16th of November.
——————————————————————————————————————————————-   If you are interested please send an email to Sherry.Dobbin@robertwilson.com.For more information on the Watermill Center see http://www.watermillcenter.org/——————————————————————————————————————————————- Hope to hear from you soon!—–Qapla’!—– Floris Schönfeld
